Kerala Law Academy Law College and the Center for Advanced Legal Studies & Research (CALSAR) Organizes International Conference on Space Law on 9th- 11th April, 2015

The Kerala Law Academy joins hands with Centre for Advanced Legal Studies and Research (CALSAR) to organize three day International Conference on Space Law on the topic “Changing Perspectives on Law of Outer Space – Contemporary Challenges, Opportunities and way forward” to be conducted at Justice V R Krishna Iyer Memorial Hall Kerala Law Academy Campus, Trivandrum from 9th to 11th April, 2015. Kerala Law Academy is a famous educational institution imparting legal education and providing opportunities for research. Centre for Advanced Legal Studies and Research (CALSAR) is the research branch of Academy promoting legal research and spreading importance of legal education.

To develop openings in the filed of international law, Academy had constituted Department of Public International Law which organizes different national and international seminars, workshops and conferences, puts out newsletters and publishes articles and case notes Academy Law Review, the law journal. The present conference aims to continue its chases in academic fields and to develop the facets of international law.

The fundamental aim of the conference is to visualize the diverse issues and chances that can affect space law in the coming days. This will be an interdisciplinary conference that strategizes an opening to understand the major issues on space law and technology. The conference will also accelerate new ideas that lead to alteration on law and prescribe programs to endorse and protect international attention in the sphere of outer space. The organizing committee looks forward to the participation of law students, research students including academicians etc in the conference.

Themes of the Conference:

  • Protection of Space Environment – Security and Environmental Challenges
  • Commercialization of Space activities and issues pertaining to access and State Co-Operation in the realm of Outer Space
  • A search for new legal regimes on Outer Space – International and Domestic.

The organizers call for papers from students and research scholars on the themes said themes that are to be presented on the day of conference. The registration fee for the conference is Rs. 2,500 for all. To get accommodation, the participants will have to pay Rs. 1,000 in addition to registration fees. The pament shall be made through Demand Draft in the name of The Principal, Kerala Law Academy Law College, Peroorkada PO payable at Thiruvananthapuram on or before 25th of March 2015.The abstract of the paper is to be submitted within March 22, 2015 and the full paper should reach the organizers within April 4, 2015.
