The Department of Laws, Guru Nanak Dev University has decided to host a Law Fest ‘Ignite 2K16’ at regional campus, Ladehwali, Jalandhar, Punjab. There will be many events that helps to develop and showcase the talents of the young students. The colleges and institutions from the State of Punjab are only eligible to participate in the competitions. The participation is also limited to law students from different universities in Punjab. The registration will close of 10th April, 2016. The students who are interested to participate in the fest can send a confirmation email to ignite2k16@yahoo.in along with the name of the participants, name of the institution, event for which registration sought and contact numbers. Since it is a two day event, the organizers will not provide accommodation. The registration fee will be collected on the spot by the student coordinators.
Ad Mad is the competition where the participants gets the opportunity to show their negotiation and convincing skills. A maximum of three participants can participate and the advertisements can be shown either in English or in Hindi. Five minutes will be given for advertisement and there will be deduction of marks if the teams exceed the time limit. Big Fight is the debate competition with two participants. The teams will have to speak for and against the topic. There will be three rounds for the competition. Other competition is Bollywood Moot Court where there shall be five participants. Each performance should not exceed 4 minutes.
The client counseling competition shall have two participants and each team will get 15 minutes. The problem will be provided at the time of the competition. The law fest will also contain a group dance competition which can consist of 2-15 members. A fashion show called Fantagious Fame is also being conducted. In addition to this, there are many other competitions to show the talents of the students.
