Dushyant Dave takes back his resignation on request of CJI- Thakur; Dave desires to finish his ‘Unfinished work’

New Delhi: Dushyant Dave, the Senior Advocate has taken back his resignation letter from the post of the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association- SCBA. He was requested to that effect by the Chief Justice of India- T. S. Thakur. CJI- T. S. Thakur was found to have requested Senior Advocate while in the inauguration of the Bar room, yesterday, i.e. on 15th March in the Supreme Court.

While commenting on his action, Dave said that he has withdrawn his resignation, following a very passionate and public appeal by the Chief Justice of India, during the opening of the Bar room for the Supreme Court. In his statements to the media, he said CJI said that the entire credit for the Bar room goes to Dave, and even CJI never realised that there was no Bar room until Dave told him.

He also, conveyed his decision of the withdrawal of his resignation, to the Executive Committee of the Supreme Court Bar Association and in the letter to it, he found expressing his desire for carrying out the ‘unfinished work’ for the ‘betterment of the Bar’.

It was seen earlier, on 15th day of February, that the Senior Advocate- Dave had forwarded his resignation letter against his post. It was occasioned after a rift between Dave and SCBA Secretary- Gaurav Bhatia. Moreover, the CJI and also the Executive Committee has earlier tried to request Dushyant Dave to reconsider his decision of resignation, however, these efforts were of no effect. But, now, the problem is being solved as the Dave has agreed to take back his resignation letter, and he decided to re-join the Supreme Court Bar Association, as a President.

Moreover, it is notable that the withdrawal of the resignation by the Senior Advocate was happened a day after the Vice- President of SCBA- Ajit Kumar Sinha voted in to officiate as President for the rest of the SCBA’s term. And this happens to be a coincidence. Be that as it may, now the SCBA got its President back, and its functioning is now started without such trouble.
