The International Law and Human Rights Unit under the School of Law and Social Justice, University of Liverpool has decided to host the Inaugural Postgraduate Conference in International Law and Human Rights from 14th to 15th June 2016 at University campus. The main theme of the conference is ‘International Law and Human Rights in Crisis?’ The International Law and Human Rights Units invites the post graduate students to the event. The interested participants can also submit papers on any of the related topics. The papers shall be related with Public International Law, Conflict and Security Law, Law of the Global Economy, International Courts and Tribunals, International Criminal Law, International, Domestic or Comparative Human Rights Law, Transitional Justice, Minority Protection and Self-Determination, Migration Law, The Theory and History of International Law and Human Rights.
The organizers calls for papers and poster presentations from those who specialize in international law, human rights or any other related field. The contributions shall be from doctrinal, normative, historical, conceptual and comparative views. This conference will give an exceptional opportunity for the students to present their papers and to have discussion on their research works with eminent persons. There will be ‘Soap Box Session’ where the presenter get 5 minutes to have controversial legal argument against the clock. Again they will get 10 minutes to defend the argument. This will be short presentation on good ideas and controversial legal views.
The abstract should not be more than 300 words added with a biography not exceeding 100 words and send to ilhrucon@liverpool.ac.uk. The participants have to specify the type of presentation. The submissions shall reach the organizers before April 1, 2016. The notification of acceptance will reach the participants by April 15, 2016. The fee for the conference is £35.00. The registration fee for the attendees is £10.00 per day. Those who want dinner on the 1st day of the conference, they will have to pay an additional amount of £25.00. The delegates and attendees have to make arrangement for accommodation and travel expense. The delegates will get nearly 20 minutes to present the papers.
