The International Law Association organizes The International Criminal Court Summer School at National University of Ireland on 27th June to 1st July, 2016. The Annual International Criminal Court Summer School is the most important summer school specifying on the International Criminal Court at the Irish Centre for Human Rights. It gives the participants the opportunity to understand various issues under the international criminal court. There will be intensive lectures delivered by leading academicians over five days. Lecture will also be delivered by legal professional working under the International Criminal Court. The programme is best suitable for post graduate students, scholars, legal professionals, persons working under NGO etc.
The participants will get deep knowledge on the working, procedures, structure, operation etc of the International Criminal Court. The lectures will be on various topics like genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, crime of aggression, jurisdictional issues, fair trial and the procedure for trial in the Court. The ICC Summer School will also focus on victims at the International Criminal Court during its special session. The registration fee for the programme is €400 for the delegates if they register prior to 15th April, 2016. After that date the registration fee will be €450. The registration fee is inclusive of course materials, lunches and refreshments, dinner and social activity.
The registration fee further includes complimentary copy of book ‘An Introduction to the International Criminal Court’ which is written by Professor William Schabas. Few slots of scholarships are also available for deserving persons and preference will be given to participants from developing countries. It includes accommodation and registration fee. Ferencz, Dr. Nadia Bernaz, Professor Anne-Marie de Brouwer, Professor Megan Fairlie, Dr. Fabricio Guariglia, Ms. Paolina Massida, Ms. Fiona McKay, Dr. Kwadwo Appiagyei Atua and Dr. Noelle Higgins. The participants have to make their own arrangements for VISA.
