JNUSU President – Kanhaiya Kumar filed Bail petition before Supreme Court under Article 32 of Constitution: Court may hear it tomorrow

New Delhi: The President of JNUSU and accused Kanhaiya Kumar today (18th day of February) at about 2.40 PM have moved the honourable Supreme Court of India for the grant of Bail. The said claim is moved by the accused Kanhaiya Kumar pleading the ground of ‘extraordinary circumstances’.

Moreover, on such plea and claim preferred by said President of JNUSU, honourable Apex Court decided it to be heard tomorrow (i.e. on 19th day of this month). And as it was informed by the sources, that the said plea and claim of bail will be argued by the former attorney General and eminent jurist- Soli Sorabjee.

However, the situation in connection with this matter is really very horrible, as since from the today’s morning, there has been a great agitation and demonstration by the teachers, students of JNU and also media people found available to cover the stories.

Moreover, after fifteen minutes to the filing of the bail application before the honourable apex court, i.e. on or about 2.45 PM, the honourable, Supreme Court has appointed a panel of advocates for submitting the report and also the Pen Drive containing the Mobile Clip showing the yesterday visit to the Patiala House Court complex.

Thereafter, the advocates who are representing the accused- Kanhaiya in Patiala House Court had filed/ submitted in the sealed cover their report in the Apex Court in this connection. Moreover, it was seen meanwhile that the march of the students of JNU was initiated from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar where the crowd seemed claiming the release of the President of JNUSU- Kanhaiya Kumar and also claiming the dropping of the charges of sedition against him.

The plea of bail sought by the accused in the sedition charges, was seemed through an application/ petition filed under the Article 32 of the Constitution of India.

It was also seen at the time of the said petition filed by the Alumnus of the JNU- ND Jayaprakash, it was taken up at 2 PM today, and the hearing was sought in said Article 32’s petition by the Senior Advocate- Raju Ramachandran. At the time of this hearing, Senior Advocate, Soli Sorabjee was also found present.
