Kerala Law Academy Organizes National Seminar on Democracy, Tolerance and Human Rights on 29th March, 2016 – Last date of Submission 21st March, 2016

The Kerala Law Academy Law College in collaboration with Centre For Advanced  Legal Studies And Research (CALSAR) has decided to organize one day National Seminar on Democracy, Tolerance and Human Rights to be held on 29th  of March  2016 at Justice V R Krishna Iyer Memorial Hall, Kerala Law Academy campus, Peroorkada, Trivandrum, Kerala. The organizers invites papers to be presented in the seminar from Law Students, Academicians, Lawyers, research scholars, NGOs, Policy makers, and officials from various institutions. The seminar aims to provide a platform for the academicians, research scholars, NGOs, lawyers, students and other interested persons to have a discussion on the merging issues related with tolerance and the present importance of that issue in the society. The seminar will discuss on the validity and scope of  right to protest and the recent developments in the right to freedom of speech and expression. The students will also get the chance to interact with eminent person on the themes related with the seminar. The themes of the seminar are as follows:

  • TOLERANCE AND IT’S IMPACTS ON DEMOCRACY.
  • TOLERANCE AMONG YOUTH AND IT’S CURRENT RELEVANCE IN THE INDIAN   SOCIETY.
  • THE EXTEND AND SCOPE OF THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN A DEMOCRATIC STATE.
  • THE RIGHT TO PROTEST; IT’S VALIDITY AND SCOPE.
  • INDIA’S RECORD ON HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES SPECIFICALLY THOSE GUARANTEED UNDER ARTICLE 19.
  • STRENGTH OF DEMOCRACY AND RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS.

 The last date for submission of full paper is on March 21, 2016. The submissions shall be send to law.seminar.kla@gmail.com.The papers should be submitted in Times New Roman, Font 12 size in A4 format, single line spacing. The papers should not be more than 3000 words including Footnotes. The papers will send to the screening committee. Only 30 papers accepted by the committee will be allowed to be presented in the seminar. The selection will be on  first come first serve basis. The acceptance of the full papers will be intimated via email. The final paper should be accompanied with a cover page consisting of the author’s name, designation, relevant discipline, year of study, address, contact number and email ID. All  the papers should be submitted and presented in English. The committee permits co-authorship subject to maximum of two. In case of co-authorship submissions shall be made by the person who is attending the seminar. There will not be any registration fee for the seminar. An author can submit only one paper. The papers should not be copied or published anywhere. Such plagiarism will amount to disqualification.

Submission of Full paper: March 21, 2016
Intimation of Full paper Acceptance: March 22, 2016.
Date of Seminar: March 29, 2016
