The Ram Manohar Lohiya National law University (RMLNLU) has decided to conduct Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) under online mode from 2015. The decision was sanctioned by the core committee of CLAT on Saturday. The students who meet the criteria of the exam shall be admitted for LLB and LLM under the top National Law Schools in India. Prof. Gurdip Singh, Vice Chancellor of RMLNLU and CLAT convener has pointed out recently that the conducting of CLAT through online mode will guarantee good organization and precision in the assessment. The committee has decided to make the application process as well as fee payment through online. The application process will begin from 1st January and shall end on 31st March. The examination will be conducted on 10th May, 2015. The exam will be held all around 28 places in India. CLAT is conducted every year on all over India to select candidates to get admissions in top law colleges for LLB and LLM.
In the official website, the university will post the procedure for examination and during the exam, the university will provide direction to the students as to the process of exam by experienced invigilators. The fee for examination will remain unchanged and the total number of universities involved in the test has increased to 16. The new University participating in the exam is the Andhra Pradesh Damodaran Sanjeevaiya National Law University. As reported by the officials, the agency that conducts the examination is to be decided by the committee and will be concluded within 20 days.
Many debates were raised during CLAT 2014 as the results were withheld by the committee before 24 hours after announcing results due to some technical difficulties. The Gujarat National Law University disputed that the bar-code stickers were different from the candidate stickers in some of the answer sheets which resulted in inconsistency in marks when students complained. Previously, the question paper consisted of both objective and descriptive type questions. The candidates will have to face multiple choice questions as the exam is held under online process.
