The School of Law, Continuing Legal Education, Sastra University have decided to organize a one day national seminar on the topic International Commercial Arbitration on March 6, 2016 at its campus in Thanjavur. It is a one day programme with many technical sessions with an objective to impart a wide knowledge on International Commercial Arbitration. The seminar also focuses on the dynamic economy of India. The technicalities of transactions in trade and commerce requires cost effective methods for the settlement of disputes that is suitable for trade related activities. Hence it is essential to implement and address and easy way of settlement of disputes. Hence this seminar aims to improve the knowledge regarding arbitration and also to provide essential structural aspects on the theme.
The seminar will also give the chance to the participants to give suggestions to improve the process of arbitration and to simplify the procedures. The inaugural address will be delivered by Shri Sriram Panchu who is a senior advocate and arbitration expert. Other speakers are experts from the arbitration areas. The institute invites judges, policy makers, lawyers, arbitrators academicians, business executives and law students to participate in the seminar. The participants have to register by sending the registration form at the earliest to confirm their participation. The registration forms shall be send to clec.sol@sastra.ac.in latest by March 2, 2016. The participation is restricted to 50 participant and will be based on registration.
The experts will be talking on the topics Role of seat of arbitration in International Commercial Arbitration, Role of International Commercial Arbitration -Jurisdictional Issues and Emergency Arbitration/Arbitral proceedings-emerging trends. The seminar also aims to change the outlook in commercial arbitral awards. It will also helps in the sharing of knowledge and to develop the skills of the participants. The seminar will connect people from different fields and link them together on the arbitral themes.
