The School of Law under the Unison University, Dehradun had planned to organize The National Youth Parliament Competition, 2015 on 1st and 2nd of May, 2015 at School of Law, IMS Unison University, Dehradun. The main issues of the competition under discussion in Lok Sabha will be abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and media censorship with special emphasis on the ban of documentary prepared by BBC. With regard to Rajya Sabha, discussion will be on Women’s Reservation Bill, 2008 and The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Amendment) Bill, 2015. In addition, the Competition will also contain All India Political Parties Meet on the enforcement of Uniform Civil Code and diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan. The organizing committee makes it clear that the committee will have the ultimate authority to decide the issue that will be discussed in each house.
The participants shall be students either pursuing graduation or post graduate studies. Only 60 participants will be admitted to the competition. All the participants have to register individually to confirm participation. For registration, the candidates shall first fill in the application form available online in the official website of the University. The last date for applying online is April 15, 2015. The applicants shall also sent scanned copy of the filled in form. The registration fee shall be Rs 1500 for the participants with food. However, if the participants can arrange accommodation by themselves, the fee shall be limited to Rs. 1000. Spot registration is also permitted in exceptional situations on payment of Rs 1000 as additional registration fee. But the forms will not be considered if it reaches the organizers after April 20.
The Demand Draft for payment of fee shall be drawn in the name of Unison University payable at Makkawala Greens Branch, Dehradun in Oriental Bank of Commerce. The name of the account holder is IMS Unison University and the account number is 15262191002504. The rules and regulation of the competition will be released on March 23, 2015. The allotment list will be published by the organizers on April 22, 2015. The participants can clarify any doubts till Aril 26, 2015.
