UN Chief and Neighbour Nations condemned North Korea’s New Rocket Launch

The Launch of a Long- range Rocket of North Korea was denounced by the Secretary General of United Nations Organization, Ban Ki- moon on this Sunday, 7th day of February, 2016. He further asked the country to halt its ‘provocative actions’ and also required to return to its compliance with its international responsibilities. Also, Ban Ki- Moon said that the launch was in violation of resolutions of the Security Council of UNO.

Ban Ki- Moon, the chief of UN as such condemned the said rocket launch stating it as ‘deeply deplorable’. He further stated that Democratic People’s Republic of Korea- DPRK has conducted a launch using ballistic missile technology, which is against the resolutions of the Security Council of UN. And also there was a united plea of the international community against such an act. Moreover, Ban Ki- Moon also reaffirmed his commitment of working with all sides for reducing the aggression.

It was seen that an emergency meeting was convened on this Sunday, by the Security Council of United Nations Organization and this meeting was mainly to discuss the actions of rocket launch by North Korea.

In the plea preferred by the North Korea’s concerned, they said that it had successfully put a satellite into orbit, with this said rocket launch. And also notably, the said rocket launch was already subjected to numerous sanctions of the United Nations Organization, as earlier to the said launch and there were made in the years 2006, 2009 and 2013, three nuclear tests earlier. And as such, the rocket was put into orbit in less than 10 minutes after it lift- off from the Sohae space centre in North Phyongan Province.

And it was told by the Country’s Spy agency in a closed- door briefing to the South Korean MPs on this Sunday that the launch should be treated as a ballistic missile test as the satellite it put into orbit would be useless.

Thus, the present emergency meeting was requested by South Korea, Japan and the US to agree on a collective response to the launch.
