Workshop on Equality, Justice and Gender Sensitization by School of Law, Northcap University, Gurgaon on April 15-16 – Last date of Submission 23rd March, 2016

The School of Law, Northcap University, Gurgaon decided to organize Workshop on Equality, Justice and Gender Sensitization- A Human Rights Issue on April 15 and 16, 2016. The vents shall consist of presentation of selected papers, debate, bill drafting, essay writing competition, quiz competition and poster making.

Paper Presentation:

The organizers invites papers to be presented in the workshop from academicians, students, research scholars, advocates, NGOs etc. The recognized law colleges can also participate in the NCU Legislative Drafting Competition, 2016. Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two. The abstract shall clearly indicate the title, author’s name, full address, contact number and email ID. The sub themes for the presentation shall be the following:

  •  Recognition to Third Gender- A Way Forward
  • Empowerment of Women through Legislations- Reality or Myth
  • Misuse of Women Oriented Laws- Need for the Change
  • Media and Gender Sensitization- Fourth Pillar of the Democracy

The abstracts shall be send to solworkshop@ncuindia.edu by March 23, 2016. The notification regarding the acceptance of the abstract will be intimated to the participant by March 29, 2016. The participants whose abstracts are selected shall send the registration form via email with the scanned copy of DD by March 31, 2016. The registration fee for the students shall be Rs 1500 and for others Rs 2000. If there is co-authorship the registration fee shall be Rs 2500 for students and Rs 3000 for others. The details regarding the DD shall be availed from www.ncuindia.edu. The final paper shall be send before April 11, 2016.

Debate:

The NCU National Debate Competition shall be based on the theme ‘Breaking Gender Stereotypes through Gender Sensitization- Reality and Myth‘. Law graduates from a recognized university is eligible to participate. The registration fee shall be Rs 1500 and the last date for registration is on March 31, 2016. There will be on the spot registration as well.

Essay Writing Competition:

The NCU National Legal Essay Writing Competition shall be based on the theme ‘Are Career Choices Determined by Gender?’ Law students, research scholars and academicians can participate in the competition. Registration fee is Rs 500 and the last date of registration is on March 31. The final copy of the essay should reach the organizers by April 11, 2016.

Legislative Drafting Competition:

The NCU Legislative Drafting Competition, 2016 is based on The Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women in India Act, 2016. The academicians, research scholars and law students are eligible to participate. The registration fee shall be Rs 500. The final paper of the legislative drafting shall reach the organizers before April 11, 2016.

Poster making:

The Poster Making Competition will be based on the theme ‘Equality, Justice and Gender Sensitization’. This will be an individual competition. Registration fee for the competition is Rs 250. Last date of registration is March 31, 2016. There will be on the spot registration.

Quiz Competition:

The quiz competition is on ‘Kaun Banega Changemaker’. This is a team event with two participants in a team. Registration fee is Rs 100 for each person.

Intimation of acceptance of abstract: 29.03.2016
Last date for sending registration form: 31.04.2016
Last date for full paper: 11.04.2016
