Advocate Jewel Panicker

JewelPresently, I am a research scholar in law in University of Kerala and practicing lawyer in Nedumangad Bar in Kerala since 2010 after my enrollment under Bar Council of Kerala. For the past two years I am writing legal articles for Lawyerslaw.org and also a member of its Editorial Board. In 2005 I joined Kerala Law Academy Law College, Trivandrum to get a Bachelors Degree in Law and successfully completed BAL LL.B with first class. During that period, I participated in various national Moot Court Competitions and was awarded best lady advocate in the S C Javali Memorial National Moot Court Competition organized by University of Dharwad, Karnataka. Again I got the opportunity to join the Post Graduation in law in Kerala Law Academy and passed out in 2013 with University second rank in International Law. In the meantime, I presented papers in National Seminars in various fields of study like Human Rights, Intellectual Property Rights, Humanitarian Law etc, attended international seminars, workshops and had undergone teacher training programme organized jointly by International Committee of Red Cross and University of Mysore.

I completed my school education from Kendriya Vidyalaya Port Trust, Cochin and higher secondary classes from the same school in commerce stream with distinction in 2005. During school days, I actively participated in the co-curricular activities and also attended the mountaineering and trekking programme conducted by Explore Himalayas under the sponsorship of Government of India in Himachal Pradesh.

My native place is Ernakulam in Kerala and right now staying in Trivandrum in the same State. I love reading books, listening to music and gardening. Mostly I prefer to go for outing with my family and used to travel a lot. My areas of interest include International Law, Human Rights, Environmental law, Jurisprudence and Intellectual Property Rights.
