Notice has been sent to Aamir Khan for using emblem in television series Satyamev Jayate

Actor Director Aamir Khan had received a legal notice from an activist as he had used emblem of India in his television series Satyamev Jayate without the permission of the central government. Manoranjan Roy, activist had said that Satyamev Jayate is part of the national emblem. On behalf of Mr Roy, Advocate Manoj Singh had sent the notice and requested the producer to show the government permission to use it if they have.

If the government permission is not shown then the legal proceedings will begin against Aamir Khan and others. Recipients of the notice were Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao his wife and director of the show Satyajit Bhatkal. As per State Emblem of India (Prohibition of Improper Use) Act 2009, the title Satyamev Jayate is part of State Emblem and it should not be used without the government permission was stated in the notice. Notice further said that the state emblem cannot be used for monetary benefits by the persons or for any advertisement purpose and no one can register it or get a patent on it. Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao or any of their managers could not be contacted for their reply on it.

Satyamev Jayate is a reality show that is presented by Aamir Khan and he usually gets emotional and teary when he hears disturbing incidents on the sets. He is very much attached to the show and is lease bothered about the remuneration that he gets. Aamir Khan is very proud and happy to earn money from the said series and told that he was happy that he is putting his talent to good use. It is an Indian Television talk show that aired on various channels. This show focuses on sensitive issues that are prevailing in India like, child sex abuse, rape, domestic violence, untouchability etc. Main language of the show is Hindi it is telecasted in other 8 languages like Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam etc. with English subtitles. In the first season of Satyamev Jayate, it received around 22.3 crore donations by the NGOs. In second season it got over 3 crore supporters and got more than 1 billion online impressions.
