The First Justice R. K. Tankha International Moot Court Competition, 2016 is organising in the National Law Institute University, Bhopal. The Competition is fixed to be held from 26th day of February, 2016 to the 28th day of same month and year. The Law School has decided to organize this International Moot Court Competition in the fond memory of Late Justice, R. K. Tankha.
Previously, the Law School has organized the National editions of the NLIU- Justice R. K. Tankha Moot Court Competition and all those five editions have been hugely successful, witnessing wide participation from across the India. The NLIU- Justice R. K. Tankha Moot Competition was holding the distinction of being the highest prized moot in the country (INDIA), as in its Fifth edition the total money prized was fixed to Rs. 2,50,000.
Now, it is the first International edition and in relation to this too, the Law School expecting great participation. It is commented from the Law School that it is due to the quality of participation, they have been encouraged to base the competition on International Law and as such they have decided to invite International Participations.
The present concerned International Edition will be offering the competition based on a ‘Compromis’ and the participants will be tested on the aspects of ‘International Commercial Arbitration’. Selection of topic is based on idea that the International Commercial Arbitration is really an issue of interesting and challenging nature in the field of International Law, when people connects it with the recent developments.
By the November 10th, 2015, the Laws school has decided to release the Compromis as well as the Rule and Registration Forms. The Universities are invited and the interested Universities are requested that they should provisionally register their participation in the competition by November 15th, 2015. Soon after a provisional registration, the Universities can send to the organizers, their Registration Forms (duly filled) when the team composition has been finalised.
The National Law Institute University is located at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (India)- NLIU, Bhopal is one of the top most THREE National Law Schools and Centres for Research of India. It was established in the year 1997 by the State of Madhya Pradesh.
