2nd KIIT National Mock Trial Competition 2016, 1st to 3rd April 2016, Last Date of Registration 1st March, 2016

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology- KIIT University has announced its Second National Mock Trial Competition which is going to be held, this year in the month of April. Its First National Mock Trial Competition was a huge success, where over Thirty Teams had registered in connection with the competition, and Twenty- Three Teams were selected to take part in the Competition, as per ‘first come first serve policy’. In the result, the First Prize in the Competition was won by Symbiosis, Pune and the runners up position was secured by M. S. Ramaiah College. However, this year, in the Second Time Mock Trial Competition, the organizing University is raising the standard and as such there is a desire of the best competitors to make the event successful.

Moreover, KIIT is the leading educational institution and it is notably, accredited by NAAC of UGC in ‘A Grade’ also it has received Tier 1 accreditation by NBA of AICTE for engineering streams, as per Washington Accord. As such it is a globally recognized University and also it is one of the Six institutions in India which has such accreditation.

The organizing University has restricted participation this time to Twenty- Four Teams only and the selection of the teams will be based on similar principle of ‘First Come First Serve’. Each of the teams should be consisting of only 3 Members in which Two- Speakers and One- Researcher will be allowed. After the registration of the Team, they will be offered with the Team Code and they shall only use such Team Code as their identify and city, etc. and should not use or disclose their identity, institution, etc. Also, notably, a single College or University will be allowed to send Only Team and not more, who should be from the LL.B course only. Moreover, during the competition, the participants will be allowed to wear only Advocates attire or formal black and white.

For the registration, a fee of Rs. 3000 per team will be required to be paid by way of Demand Draft in favour of said University. Also, for the Online phase of registration, the team will be required to mail the scanned copy of registration form and scanned copy of demand draft at knmtc2016@kls.ac.in and this should have done before 1st day of March, 2016. Moreover, the Team will also be required to send the hard copies of the said documents along with tentative travel plan at the University’s address.

For the awards to the winner of the competition, the University will be offering a Best Team Prize in the face of Trophy and Cash of Rs. 50,000 and for Runners Up, a Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 30,000 and also for the 2nd Runners Up, a Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 15,000. Moreover, besides, a Trophy and Cash Prize of 10,000 will also be awarded to the Best Student Advocate, as Dr. Kumar Kartikeya Memorial Best Student Advocate award. And for the Best Written Brief, the award in the face of Dr. Kumar Kartikeya Memorial Best Written Brief Award will be offered as Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 10,000.
