National Herald Case: Delhi Court keeps pending the application of BJP leader- Subramanian Swamy

New Delhi: One of the accused in the National Herald Case- Sam Pitroda was granted bail by the Delhi Court on this Saturday i.e. on 20th day of February, 2016, moreover, the Court said that the BJP Leader- Subramanian Swamy would have to satisfy that the relevancy of the documents which was he was seeking. The observations were made while keeping the application preferred by the said BJP leader, pending.

The BJP leader- Swamy has filed the application against Sonia Gandhi- Congress President and Rahul Gandhi- Vice President to the party in relation to the National Herald case.

The contentions from the side of the Congress leaders in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate was that the BJP leader- Swamy would have to satisfy the court on whether the documents which he was seeking were of any relevance or not to the matter pending.

Also, the Metropolitan Magistrate- Loveleen was informed by the Senior advocate- Kapil Sibal who was appearing for the Congress leaders that the one of the accused in the same case, namely, Motilal Vora had challenged the order before the High Court, and in turn the High Court has issued a notice to BJP leader- Swamy on the plea.

Moreover, the court was also told by the representative counsels appearing for accused in this case, that the concerned documents be kept in the sealed cover, until the matter before the High Court is decided. However, advocate appearing for the BJP Leader- Swamy contended that the said documents which were placed in the court of Magistrate were connected to the AJL and they were required for the case.

Also, while granting bail to the Pitroda, the court has also asked him to furnish a personal bond of Rs. 50,000 and a surety of like amount. Moreover, the court of magistrate also has granted exemption to the Congress party’s president- Sonia and his son- Rahul (vice- president) and also to the other including Motilal Vora, Suman Debey- friend to Gandhi family and one of the leader to Congress party- Oscar Fernandes. Also, now 21st day of March is fixed for further hearing in the case by the Court.
