The Centre for Advanced Studies in Criminal Law in collaboration with Punjab Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh and Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab has decided to conduct National Seminar on Prison Administration and Reforms with Special Emphasis on Legal Aid and Legal Services on April 9, 2016. The seminar aims to provide a platform for the advocates, academicians, research scholars and administrators to express their views on the selected theme. The seminar will discuss on the reforms to be made to the prison system and the measures to be implemented to protect the human rights of the persons imprisoned. Yet another object is to focus on the need for legal aid to the confined and other form of legal services to be provided ensuring free trial and right to live with human dignity. There will be an interactive session on the latest progress, challenges and the reformation to be adopted that contributes to further research. The participants can also suggest measures to improve the situation of the prisoners. The sub themes of the seminar will be the following:

- Prisons and Restorative Justice
- Information and Computerization Services in Prisons
The organizing committee calls for paper to be presented in the seminar from academicians, practitioners, researchers, scholars and students on the topics based on the above mentioned themes. The selected papers will be published in a book with ISBN No. The abstract shall be limited to 300 – 350 words along with brief profile of the author with address, email ID and contact number. The full paper shall not exceed 6000 words. The last date for submission of abstract shall be March 16, 2016. The full papers along with the registration fee shall be submitted before March 31, 2016. The authors shall follow uniform method of citation. The abstract along with the full papers should be send to casclseminar2016@gmail.com. The accommodation charges of Rs 500 per day have to be paid separately. The registration fee for students, research scholars and teachers shall be Rs 500, Rs 700 and Rs 1000 respectively. The registration fee have to be paid in the form of Demand Draft.
