National Seminar on The Role of Competition Law in New Economy: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities by Jagannath University, Haryana on 23rd April, 2016 – Last date of Submission 1st April, 2016

The Department of Law and Department of Management, Jagannath University has jointly decided to conduct a National Seminar on The Role of Competition Law in New Economy: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities on April 23, 2016 at Jagan Nath University, NCR, Haryana. The main area of the seminar will be competition law as a tool to develop trough new innovations and economic effectiveness enabling to accelerate consumer satisfaction by providing better products at price affordable to the users. There are many issues that need to be addressed to achieve the main goals provided under the Competition Act, 2002.

The seminar also aims to foster inventions and knowledge in the areas related with competition. The seminar will give the opportunity for the participants to discuss on the recent issues related with international trade and commerce, IPR, competition policies in agricultural sector etc. It will also address the inter state competition issues, problems in the service sector and many other recent matters related with competition. The sub theme of the seminar are as follows:

  • Ÿ  Competition Law and Policy – National and International Perspectives
  • Ÿ  Mergers/Acquisitions and Competition Law
  • Ÿ  Intellectual Property Rights and Competition Law
  • Ÿ  Competition Law and International Trade
  • Ÿ  Cross Border Competition Issues
  • Ÿ  Competition Policy in Agriculture
  • Ÿ  Competition Policy in Service Sector
  • Ÿ  Abuse of Dominant Position and Competition Law

The organizing committee invites papers from Academicians, Practitioners, Research Scholars and Students to be presented in the seminar relating to any of the above mentioned theme. The papers selected for the seminar will be published in an edited book with ISBN number. The authors can also present their papers and express their views on different issues. The abstract of the paper should be limited to 300 – 350 words. The abstract should also contain the Email ID, contact number and official address of the author. The final paper should not be more than 2500-3000 words. The authors should follow Harvard Blue Book citation (19th Ed). The papers should be typed in Times New Roman Font Size 12 in A4 size paper with 1” margin on all four sides. The papers shall maintain 1.5 line spacing using MS Word.

The abstract should reach the organizers by April 1, 2016 and the acceptance of abstract will be intimated to the participants within two days. The soft copy of the full paper should reach the organizers by April 10, 2016.
