New Syllabus for All India Bar Examination – 2015

_Bar_Council_of_IndiaThe All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is conducted to assess the capacities of lawyers to conduct their practice before various courts in India. The exam will scrutinize the basic expertise and decided to have basic standard to practice the profession. It will highlight the reasoned capacities and have perceptive on the fundamentals of law. Subsequent to the declaration of results, the Bar Council will issue ‘Certificate of Practice’ for the successful candidates. The Bar Council conducts exam all over 40 places in India in 11 languages. The language can be opted by the candidate. The questions will be in objective mode and the candidates can refer books and materials while answering the questions. The Legal Education Committee together with the officials of Bar Council of India publicized the notification regarding the All India Bar Examination on April, 2010.

At present, the Bar Council has decided to change the syllabus of examination and added some more subjects into the old syllabus. The Law of Limitation, Family Law, Constitution of India, Law of Arbitration and ADR, Jurisprudence, Environmental Law, Administrative Law, Corporate Social Responsibility, Professional Ethics and Professional misbehavior cases under the Bar Council of India Rules, Company Law, Law of crimes, Law of Evidence, Civil Procedure Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Cyber Law, Tort, Contract, Labor and Industrial law and International law are the subjects that are dealt in the AIBE. The AIBE 2015 will be conducted according to this new syllabus introduced by the Committee and Bar Council.

For registration, the candidates have to log on to the official website of the AIBE. Before applying for the exam the candidates have to keep the relevant documents like Advocates Identity Card, Certificate of enrolment, Scanned images of photo as well as signature and the Category certificate and the Disability certificate for the applicable candidates. Hence, a person can apply for the examination only after passing the LLB exam and enrolment. After the introduction of the AIBE, according to Bar Council, the quality of legal profession has improved and they could accomplish the purpose of conducting the examination.
