Braja Mohan Thakur Law College is located in Purnia. Purnia is a place in Bihar which is situated on the borders of Bangladesh, Nepal and India. This college is registered under Societies Registration Act and is affiliated to Bar Council of India, New Delhi. Many students of this college have received gold and silver medals and state awards in Moot Court competitions. As law is considered as an actual science, i.e. it is associated with human experiences which relates to different spheres of human life. Braja Mohan Thakur Law College teaches in remote and backward regions of Bihar with modern methods of teaching and help the students to understand enact and interpret the law. This college has got an autonomous college in Bihar and it has been granted by UGC, New Delhi in 2009.
College has plans of starting new courses in the field of Law too. It has faculties who are dedicated towards the students and their betterment. It is also permanently affiliated to B N Mandal University, Madhepura. College premises is expanding under 3 acres of land and is a well built with protected walls. College is located in a very quiet and peaceful place and it has all facilities in the college for the students like, Class rooms, Library, Guest rooms, playground, sports activities, women’s hostel, and a majestic auditorium. Main attraction of the college is its auditorium which is best in the city and has been built in memory of Kumar Adyanand Sinha. This college has organised many seminars, legal awareness programmes till date and is continuing to do so even in future along with social activity like flood relief programme.
College has an anti-ragging monitoring cell in its premises and it takes strict action against any student who is involved in these activities. Academic sessions in the college begins from 1 July every year. This college offers 3 years and 5 years LL.B course and it follows the semester system that is available to the students in the college and it is a day college. A student or a candidate to be eligible for this college he/she must have passed bachelor degree with 45% marks in aggregate for a 3 year LL.B course. Marks sheet of the last qualifying examination must be attested along with a passport size photo. The students should show the proof of passed exams. The course available here is a full time course and a co-education college.
